Advanced Manufacturing Engineering employment declined 0.3% in Southeast Michigan between During the same period, engineering nationwide declined 5.3%. Employment is now approximately 74,200. Although the region lost many jobs during the recession, 27,900 engineering/drafter job postings in 2012 point to growth. The job posting-to-employment ratio for engineering and drafters is approx. 19 postings for every 50 jobs or 37.6%.
