IMPACT BREACH FORMATION (Location)

Breach Formation Breach Location Objective: To investigate and develop a methodology / tool for identifying likely breach location within long length of embankments (flood embankments / bunded reservoirs etc)

Breach Formation Breach Location Approach: Collation and analysis of case study data Analysis of factors affecting breach and relative importance in the breaching process Development of methodology for determining location. Initial approach = high level, relative risk (e.g. high/med/low risk - regional). Detail and complexity increased dependent upon the factors involved, reliability of case study data and uncertainty within overall process. Approach to be consistent with other risk management initiatives (e.g. RASP)
