Meets God’s Book

ABSOLUTES FOR CHRISTIANS Virtuous Thoughts: Phil 4:8 – Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there is any virtue & if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.

ABSOLUTES FOR CHRISTIANS Graceful Words: Ephesians 4:25-5:4 Prov 15:23 – A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, & a word spoken in due season, how good it is! 24:26 – He who gives a right answer kisses the lips. Eccl 12:10 – The Preacher sought to find accept-able words; & what was written was upright — words of truth.

ABSOLUTES FOR CHRISTIANS Good Eyes: Matt 6:22-23 – The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

ABSOLUTES FOR CHRISTIANS Obedient Actions: 1 Pet 1:14-15 – as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,

ABSOLUTES FOR CHRISTIANS Wholesome Friends: 1 Cor 15:33-34 – Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” 34 Awake to righteousness, & do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Opportunities: social network Evangelism: Matt 28:18-20 – Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. 2 Tim 2:2 – ...commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Opportunities: social network Encourage: Heb 3:12-13 – Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort [parakaleo: to call to one’s side] one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Opportunities: social network Educate: 2 Tim 2:24-26 – And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth.

dangers: social network Time Wasted: Eph 5:15-17 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 There-fore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

dangers: social network Words Wasted: Jas 3:2-6 – For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member & boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, & sets on fire the course of nature; & it is set on fire by hell. Cf. Matt 12:36

dangers: social network Influence Wasted: Phil 2:14-16 – Do all things without complaining & disputing, 15 that you may become blameless & harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked & perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, ….

Realities: social network Influence Wasted: A social outlet for a worldly person pretending to be Christian. A means of weakening our influence for Christ. A means of promoting our influence for Christ.

This has been the point… Keep unspotted from the world. Teach and encourage others. Avoid wasteful activities.

God’s Book before Facebook “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, & let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry & drunkenness, not in lewdness & lust, not in strife & envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, & make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (Rom 13:12-14).
