Physical Properties We can describe matter by observing their physical properties, or what we can observe without changing the matter into something else Physical Properties Example: Color, shape, odor, hardness Density, volume, mass Boiling/melting point, conductivity, magnetism, solubility Examples: copper conducts electricity, salt dissolving in water

Chemical Properties Chemical properties are things that are only observed or measured when matter changes Examples: Toxicity Flammability Ability to rust
