Mental Math Students know the expectation – seated, quiet, and ready. Mental Math should be started within about one minute of the “tardy time” NO TALKING during Mental Math Teacher will show/call out the problem long enough to read it through TWICE. Students should write ONLY the answer…not the problem or any calculations Don’t forget to simplify – or include units.

Mental Math 5.) 3/8 + ½+ 4/8 =

Mental Math IF students are behaving and being cooperative, I usually go ahead and ask them to “trade and grade.” Students may not grade their own. Students need to use a different writing utensil to grade – and write “Graded by ____” Teacher calls the question and students RAISE a hand to answer. Student then checks all right answers and puts one line through all that are wrong. The grade should be calculated (10 points each – and I will spot them 50 points). This means all grades should be from 50 to 100. Write the grade on the warm up and return it to the owner. *If not graded, just collect them for me to grade, please*

Mental Math Put the grade on the paper. Return the paper to it’s owner.

Dogs Decoded Every student will need a video guide worksheet. You will need to answer these questions based on the video. (So read through them quickly before we begin) Watch quietly – so you can concentrate and not disturb your neighbor.

After video… If time allows, there is a Genetics Test Study Guide (worksheet) for every student. You may work on this in class and/or at home over the weekend. You may use a textbook or your notes –but NOT your neighbor – to answer the STUDY GUIDE…not on the test.
