Birley Health Centre Frecheville 8500 patients Purpose built 1992 5 partner GPs 1 salaried GP 2 Nurse Practitioners 3 Practice Nurses 4 Health Care Assistants Health Trainer IAPT, Physioworks

PPG PPG for about 30 years Current attendees up to 15, 20 members including local councillor Meets quarterly for 1 hour Agenda invitations, minuted Practice manager, receptionist, 1-2 GPs in attendance

What do we talk about? Appointments, appointments and appointments Prescriptions Transport Car Park! Update on staff changes, training Requests

What do we all get from it? Critical Friends, a number of patients recruited through complaints Explaining why things are as they are Patients tell you how it is Keeps the team’s focus

Planning for the PPG Network

Questions to consider What do you get out of attending the PPG Network? What would you like to get out of the Network that you don’t at the moment? What should be the purpose of the PPG network? Membership – Who should be here? The position against target determines how much each CCG gets of the funding that NHS England decides is available to distribute to CCGs. Because we are more than 5% higher than our target allocation, this means we receive a lower cash uplift than the majority of other CCGs – see next slide
