Silk Worms to the Silk Road

Silkworms are a type of caterpillars from an adult moth Silkworms are a type of caterpillars from an adult moth. Silk worms make silk by it first secreting the silky substance from its back, the silk fibers are later harvested by heating with steam, and the fibers are then spun to make long threads, which are treated, dyed and woven together to make silk clothing.
