The town of Pompeii Located in the low hills south east of Mount Vesuvius and close to the Sarno river.

163 acres of land Town surrounded by wall with 11 towers and 8 gates, leading to neighboring towns: Herculaneum, Nola, Nuceria and Stabiae, and into the harbor.

Two main streets crossing the town: the Street of shops and Stabiae street. Many little streets divided the town into blocks: grid pattern. Stepping stones

Shops and bars along streets. Symbols on the walls outside of shops indicate different streets and types of stores.

The Forum Central business center: market place, worship government buildings, elections, announcements etc.
