Big Idea God is persistent in His grace toward those whom He is calling to repentance and faith.

The Persistence of His Grace

All that the Father gives me will come to me,… John 6:37 All that the Father gives me will come to me,…

…and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. Acts 13:48 …and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

Jonah 1:2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me.”

The Word of God’s Grace is Precise

Deuteronomy 4:2 You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you.

Ezekiel 2:3 And he said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the people of Israel, to nations of rebels, who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me to this very day.

Ezekiel 2:4-5 The descendants also are impudent and stubborn: I send you to them, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’ 5 And whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house) they will know that a prophet has been among them.

Ezekiel 2:6 And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions. Be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.

Ezekiel 2:7 And you shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house.

Jeremiah 1:7, 9 …whatever I command you, you shall speak…9…Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.

Acts 17:30-31 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.

2 Timothy 3:1-2 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

2 Timothy 3:3-5a heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

Luke 13:2-5 …Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

John 5:28-29 …an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

Power of the Word of God’s Grace

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth,… James 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth,…

1 Peter 1:23 …since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;

Acts 18:9-10 “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.”
