Renaissance Authors

William Shakespeare Shakespeare was born in the year 1564. He was an actor and a poet, but was known most for his plays. Some of his many plays include Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Twelfth Night. First play he ever wrote was Titus Andronicus in 1594.

Dante Alighieri Dante Alighieri was born in the year 1265. He was one of the world’s greatest poets. Wrote The Divine Comedy. The Divine Comedy was about Dante’s trip through hell to purgatory to paradise.

Miguel de Cervantes Miguel de Cervantes was born in the year 1547. He wrote numerous plays and works of fiction. One of his more famous pieces of fiction was Don Quixote de la Mancha. It was also one of the most influental pieces in his life time.
