Investigation Report write-up Fair Test Investigation Report write-up What do I need to do to plan and carry out a “Fair Test” science investigation?

Hypothesis What are you trying to find out? Aim State the purpose or objective of your investigation / experiment What are you trying to find out? Hypothesis What do you think or predict will happen?

Give instructions that are clear enough for another person to do the Method State what you are going to do in the investigation Use labelled scientific diagrams State clearly the Variables being tested Give instructions that are clear enough for another person to do the investigation

Clearly state your Investigation Variables: the independent variable - the one you are testing the dependent variable - the one you are measuring the controlled variables - all other variables that are kept constant (unchanged) Your method should show how your investigation will be a fair test (i.e. has no bias - all conditions must be identical except the variable being tested)

Results Record your observations This could be a table of results, charts or graphs to show what happened

Discussion / Conclusion Explain what you found out from your investigation and why you think it happened Say how accurate your investigation was Write down any improvements which you can think of for your method
