What is regional service planning? National Partnership Agreement (NPA) requires States and Legal Assistance Services (LAS) to undertake Collaborative Service Planning Queensland Department of Justice funded Community Legal Centre Queensland to facilitate collaborative service planning in 4 regions Planning process builds up on the evidence base produced for the CLSP procurement process. Who is involved Legal Assistance Services in 4 regions The RLAFs are being tested as the vehicle for the planning process – CLCs, LAQ and ATSILS First regions – Moreton and Ipswich to test the planning framework Final 2 regions – EOI process CLCQ – collect and collate data, facilitate planning discussions and produce the final regional plans Presentation Title and Footer Information (change on Master page) | 3

What is the process? Data collection as one planning input: quantitative (service-level data, ABS, Law and Justice Foundation NSW) qualitative (interviews with LAS and community organisations in the region) The data is used as input for planning discussions to determine: priority groups priority areas of law strategies to address legal needs Potential strategies include: more resources for more services, partnership development, improved referral pathways, training and development. What happens to the plan? Provided to QLAF who provide advice to the Queensland Government about the allocation of future resources to LAS RLAFs can monitor and operationalise some aspects of the plan through usual RLAF processes CLCQ can assist with strategies such as partnerships and training and development Presentation Title and Footer Information (change on Master page) | 6
