I am a Child Labourer I am a child labourer I wonder what it would be like to play each day I hear the sound of machines in the factory where I work I see other children around me I want to be free I pretend that this is not my life, that I can leave whenever I want I feel the pain of my back and fingers after a hard day’s work I touch the sky wishing I was a bird I worry about making sure there is food for my family to eat I cry myself to sleep at night I understand that other children go to school and learn to read I say I will get out of this life one day I dream of something more for my own children I try to make as much money as I can to support my family I hope for a better life someday I am a slave.
