2 Alliteration Write a poem using alliteration.
-Pick a letter of the alphabet. -Write a minimum of three stanzas. -Each stanza must have a minimum of two lines each.

3 Monkeys Makin’ Pies Monkeys move around Morocco
Making mud pies for money After making mud pies, Monkeys move mattresses and make moo moo pies Many Mama’s think this is marvelous, Many Monkeys must agree!

4 Things that make you smile
Create a list of things that you like Your poem can either be your list, or about one subject. Minimum line requirement – lines.

5 Things That Make Me Smile
It makes me smile when I hear my favorite song When my sister and I get along When I see my relatives after a long time apart When I know unexpected things because it makes me feel smart When I see my best friends at school When I do an epic cannonball into the pool When I drink a smoothie When, for the twentieth time, I watch my favorite movie When my friend tells a funny joke When I laugh so hard at the joke and almost choke When it’s finally the weekend and I can relax for a while These are the things that make me smile.

6 If-You-Were and If-I-Were Poems
Think of a person you like and compare them to some thing. (metaphor, Suzie is a flower) Now compare yourself to something associated with the first object. (I am the soil) Poem must be three stanza’s long. Each stanza must have four lines.

7 If You Were A Flower If you were a flower, I would be the wind,
I would leave you there, And stay with you till the end. If I was the moon, While you were the sun, I’d let you shine bright, as bright as you could, Until it is night. If you were an ice cream And I was the freezer, I would never let you melt, Because without you I would be nothing either.

8 If-You -Were If you were a shining star And I were your midnight,
I’d let you shine above me, You’d be my only light. If you were a scoop of ice cream And I were an ice cream cone, I’d put you on my shoulders An hold you for my own.

9 Name Poem Write your name It means (3 adjectives that describe you)
It is the number (write your favorite number in words) It is the (write two things that are your favorite color: example: roses and lipstick) It is when I (finish the line with a thing you accomplished) It is a memory of (name a person who means a lot to you …who taught me (name a trait of good character) …when (finish the sentence with the event that happened when they taught you the lesson) My name is (first name) It means (finish the sentence with something you like doing or something that is important to you)

10 Name poem Cindy Jamie It means fun, smart, competitive It means funny, strong, brave, It is four, It is one, It is like the sun in the sky, It is like the grass in the morning, It is camping at Pine Edge, It is the greatest time ever, It is a memory of my mom, It is a memory of my mom, Who taught me trust and kindness, Who taught me how to write, When she let me run all over. When she did homework with me. My name is Cindy, My name is Jamie, It means I believe in doing my own thing It means keeping my brother happy and safe.

11 I am? I am scaly and green I wonder what it’s like on land
I hear bubbles from mouth’s of fish I see huge boats I want a friend to love and care for I pretend to talk to friends I feel the furry feeling of the moss I touch the warm swampy sand I worry about the scary men with cages I cry when I see others get taken away I understand we don’t all live I say let us all be free! I dream of seeing my family again I try to restrain from hurting others I hope for a comfortable habitat
