Volunteer & Chaperone Orientation 2018-2019

Am I a Visitor or a Volunteer? A visitor is a family member who comes for lunch or is attending a special program during the school day. A volunteer is coming to school to help. They may be helping teachers in the classroom, chaperoning a fieldtrip or working in our office. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed uner CC BY-NC

How do I become a volunteer? An application must be completed and approved. The application is found online on the Brevard Public Schools website. Click on the header PARENTS & STUDENTS, click on VOLUNTEER INFORMATION, on the right side menu click VOLUNTEERS. Then click VOLUNTEER APPLICATION to apply. Directions can also be found in the volunteer brochure. There is currently only one level of volunteering REGISTERED. Every volunteer will now have a level II background check and be fingerprinted. The first year the cost is $35.00. Each year after that it is $8.00. Each year a new background check will be run on every person wishing to volunteer.

All Visitors and Volunteers Must sign-in at the front office with your ID Must wear their badges, so they are visible to all staff and students Be a positive role model for our students No need to dress up for us jeans, t-shirt and sneakers is perfect.
