What is mash up? A social recreational football programme for 14 – 16 year olds who are looking to get back into or try football for the first time

The Philosophy of the Vauxhall Football Mash Up Clubs programme is to inspire and empower young people through a fun, recreational football playing opportunity that has been specifically designed for year olds. The VFMU programme nurtures the young persons social and psychological development through the creation of a teenage specific environment that centres on the needs of the individuals. The VFMU programme seeks to instil ownership, responsibility and respect through participation and leadership supporting young people to grow in confidence and enhance self esteem via thought provoking practical sessions. Mash Up Philosophy

26 Week Ingredient List FMU Festivals Recruitment Days Competitions (if so, what?!) Social events Ground rules (what, how to establish) Virtual football challenges Facebook video making Breaks

What young people have said! Great, because you get to play with other girls from other schools and ages Football Mash-up has been a fun experience and I would love to attend again Having a kick around, learning new skills and having fun with my mates. Games aimed at improving certain aspects of football such as passing and shooting etc., matches It is fun and that it is a social event that we talk about in the days before Mash-up, so we are always excited Being able to play football in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere

What young people have said!

Game Challenge First team to score 2 goals in each third of the pitch wins; (NO GKs and NO PLAYERS ALLOWED IN THE AREA) If a shot knocks the cone off in the middle, your teams score starts from zero. Tactical Think Q. What formation do you adopt to increase your chances of scoring all 6 goals? Q. Can you prioritise a strategy to get the goals as quickly as possible? Up The Challenge First time shot only attempt at goal. Lower The Challenge Players can go into the area to shoot/create safe zones where no opposition can tackle them for a free attempt at goal. X 2
