Gender project/presentation The ‘old’ medea is the new Hillary!
Project directions Compile notes on your assigned character – words, actions, etc. that show gender views, influences in some way Locate a person from current society that most reflects the same qualities, actions, gender views/influences Create 5 minute presentation using powerpoint slides to show your conclusions – why you chose the current person; what qualities/views they share with your character, what the comparison reveals to you about how gender affects what we say or do
Medea – strong, smart woman
Medea – details/notes Include here details/notes you took from the play that reveal how gender expectations have affected her actions, words, etc.
Hillary – strong, smart woman
Hillary – notes/details Do the same thing for the current person you choose as you do for your character – include the same type of content/proof for your comparison
Conclusion – what have I learned? Include comments that explain how the comparison of the two – character to person – helps you to better understand the affects of gender expecations on you, society, others…
Due date: mon. apr. 23 All students must have rough drafts of their presentations/projects ready for teacher review on fri. apr. 20 in class All students must have their final presentations/projects done for class on 4/23 where students will be called upon randomly to present All students must make the 5-minute time requirement or they will receive points deductions and have to go again This project is worth 50pts.
