Initial Assessment Exercise Agenda Introductions Way ahead for the exercise Expectations/Rules “Your time here will be productive and rewarding if you decide to make it worth your while.”

Initial Assessment Exercise Way Ahead You are the Battalion Staff for the 1-22IN. Over the next several days the 1-22IN Staff will conduct the planning, preparation, execution, and AAR of a Unified Land Operation (ULO). “You will be working in one of 2 groups for this exercise.” “Your group was hastily assembled to replace an operational Staff that was just eliminated in an attack and all the work they had done was destroyed.”

Initial Assessment Exercise Expectations & Rules Everyone participates and contributes. The BN Staff leads the effort. The staff will coordinate with the cadre for timelines and briefings – YOU RUN THE SHOW! Lunch time and breaks will be designated by the Battalion Staff. OPORD, Maps, overlays, computers, White boards, butcher block easels, etc. are provided to complete the mission Avoid printing off any products. All products can accessed and completed digitally. All questions and RFIs will be directed to the cadre. “These are the ground rules.” “You may use anything in this Staff area to assist you with your effort.”
