Presentation transcript:

Rajesh Jagdale

 Industrial automation is the use of control systems, such as computers or robots, and information technologies for handling different processes and machineries in anindustry to replace a human being. It is the second step beyond mechanization in the scope of industrialization.

 Automation equipment reduces the periodic or manual operations and establishes the automatic working conditions. Using the automatic machines and equipments, human intervention to control the processes abruptly falls. This reduces the investment on the labor cost hence the production cost.

 Automation or automatic control, is the use of various control systems for operating equipment such as machinery, processes in factories, boilers and heat treating ovens, switching in telephone networks, steering and stabilization of ships, aircraft and other applications with minimal or reduced human intervention.

 Automation in the industrial workplace provides the advantages of improving productivity and quality, while reducing errors and waste, increasing safety, and adding flexibility to the manufacturing process.  In the end, industrial automation yields increased safety, reliability, and profitability.

 Industrial automation is the control of machinery and processes used in variousindustries by autonomous systems through the use of technologies like robotics and computer software.  Generally, the mechanical processes in industries were faster and produced greater quantities of goods but still required skilled workers.
