The Shoot System

The Shoot System It forms the aerial portion of the plant that develops from the plumule of the embryo. It consists of a main stem, Nodes and internodes, leaves, buds, flowers, fruits and seeds

Types of Shoot Systems Shoot System Example of plant Tree Mango Shrub Croton Grass Sugarcane Creeper Black Pepper Twiner Yam Runner Sweet Potato

Different Types of Shoots ADVENTITIOUS SHOOT New shoots usually develop from the terminal and axillary buds of the plant. If they develop from the root system they are called adventitious shoots. UNDERGROUND STEM They are stems that grow and develop underground. They are also known as organs of perennation, because they store food and give rise to new plants.

Can you label the parts of the Plant?

Stems and branches could be hard and woody e. g Stems and branches could be hard and woody e.g. coconut trees, mango trees, avocado trees, orange trees. They can also be herbaceous (soft) e.g. rice, beans, tomatoes, sweet peppers, cucumber, sweet potatoes.
