Gettysburg Location of famous battle in Pennsylvania where the Confederates were beaten.

Confederate General who made famous doomed charge at Gettysburg. George Pickett Confederate General who made famous doomed charge at Gettysburg.

Ulysses S. Grant Was transferred to the Eastern theater. Made Supreme Commander of Union forces.

William Tecumseh Sherman Union General who made a “March to the Sea”, and destroyed 60 by 300 miles of Confederate land.

Atlanta Sherman put this city to siege, and it was later bombarded, burned and destroyed.

Total War Sherman destroyed everything in a wide swath during his “March to the Sea”.

Lee formally surrendered to Grant at Appomattox Courthouse.
