Locating Funding Opportunities Presented by James Denney Office of Sponsored Programs Today’s workshop is titled Locating Funding Opportunities. I am James Denney the Director of Sponsored Programs and this presentation is being put on by the Office of Academic Affairs.

Kellogg Foundation The Phil Hardin Foundation http://www.wkkf.org Initiatives The Phil Hardin Foundation http://www.philhardin.org So lets start by looking at some of the foundations that offer programs. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Once you have the web page up click on the Initatives Tabt. You will find that many of the Foundations do not have direct request for proposals or request for applications. They have Initiatives and if you r program fits there agenda then you can send in a proposal. Click on Food and Society Grants Links on Left hand Side of Page Grant Seeking Link at top of Page. Federal Agencies www.grants.gov Two Ways to Search New Opportunities this Week Grant Search Grant E-Mail Alerts So, Now lets move on to some of the Federal Agencies. Probably the biggest one is grants.gov. Grants.gov is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The is the Central Warehouse of all of the Federal Grants. There are two ways to search this web site. The fist if New Opportunities this week. Another way is to Click on the Grant Search link on the right hand side of the page. You can search by keyword, by category, by agency or do an advanced search. Also, you can get Grant E-Mail alerts.

U.S. Department of Education www.ed.gov Grants & Contracts Grant Opportunities Once you get to the web site go to the Grants & Contracts link on the right hand side of the page. Click on the Grant Opportunities on the right hand side of the page. Click on Find in the Upper Left hand Column.

Federal Agencies – Cont. U.S. Dept of Agriculture www.usda.gov USDA Awards, Loans, and Grants Next lets look at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Scroll down and click on the USDA, Awards, Loans and Grants.

Federal Agencies – Cont. National Science Foundation http://www.nsf.gov Find Funding Opportunities The National Science Foundation. Click on the Find Funding Opportunities link in the Upper Left Hand Column. There are three different ways we can look for opportunities here.

Federal Agencies – Cont. Appalachian Regional Commission http://www.arc.gov Grants and Contracts Request for Proposals The Appalachian Regional Commission. Click on Grant and Contracts Click on Request for Proposals

Federal Agencies – Cont. American Recovery Reinvestment Act http://www.recovery.gov Opportunities Grants Lets look at the American Recovery Reinvestment Act website. Scroll over the Opportunities link at the top and click on grants.
