STEAM patterns

Fact: The spiral patterns of pinecones, pineapples, snail shells, and sunflower seeds are all examples of Fibonacci sequence. The Fibonacci sequence is the sequence of numbers, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13,… This is where each number is the sum of the two previous terms. They are found in many natural forms.

Check out the sequence

Directions: Calculate the next 10 numbers in the Fibonacci sequence. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___. Research the founder of the Fibonacci sequence and write a small biography about him. Research what items in nature have the same pattern. (Hint: use for art)

STEAM Science: What items in nature have the Fibonacci sequence Technology: Look up facts on a computer about the founder and write a 5 sentence biography Engineer: Engineering a poster Art: Creating an artistic poster on patterns Math: Using math to figure out the patterns
