What About The Promises Of God? How Certain Are They? His Promises Are Sure Romans 4:13-16

Genesis Chapters 12 & 22 Genesis 12:3 NKJV 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.“ Genesis 22:18 NKJV 18 "In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

A Promise is of no more value than the ability of the who makes it to keep it. Galatians 3:16 “your Seed, who is Christ.” Acts 13:32,33 “God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus.”

Jesus’ Life on Earth Shaped by His Trust In The Father’s Promises John 6:48 “I am that bread of life” John 11:25 “I am the resurrection & the life” 1 Corinthians 15:1-6

God’s Promises to Us To supply every need we have.

Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Context: Paul’s reception of the Philippians’ gifts while in Rome. Promised: (Needs) food, clothing, shelter, companionship, love, salvation through Jesus Not Promised: Luxuries and wants

God’s Promises to Us To supply every need we have. That His grace is sufficient for us.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Ephesians 2:8 “by grace…through faith”

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. It is through obedient faith that we gain access to the grace of God.

God’s Promises to Us To supply every need we have. That His grace is sufficient for us. That His children will not be overtaken in temptation.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Jude 24 “able to keep you from stumbling” Daniel 6:16

God’s Promises to Us To supply every need we have. That His grace is sufficient for us. That His children will not be overtaken in temptation. Victory over death.

Acts 2:32 1 Corinthians 15:3,4 1 Corinthians 15:57 "This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4 “that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,” 1 Corinthians 15:57 “victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

God’s Promises to Us To supply every need we have. That His grace is sufficient for us. That His children will not be overtaken in temptation. Victory over death. Those who believe and are baptized will be saved.

Acts 2:38 “remission of sins” Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. A simple promise, that acknowledges conditions. If we do as God requires, we are promised salvation. Acts 2:38 “remission of sins”

God’s Promises to Us To supply every need we have. That His grace is sufficient for us. That His children will not be overtaken in temptation. Victory over death. Those who believe and are baptized will be saved. Eternal Life.

John 10:27,28 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” 1 John 2:25 If we choose to belong to His flock, we are guaranteed eternal life.

“Standing on the promises of God” These promises are supplied only to those who belong to God. They are conditioned upon our faith and obedience to Him. Let us so live that the promises of God will be ours.
