This is our district mission and vision that drives our work.

Literacy 86.1% proficiency on the 2014-15 Iowa Assessment Goal: To increase overall proficiency on the 2015-16 Iowa Assessment with the end goal always being 100% of students meeting proficiency. (Grades 3-5) Math 89.7% proficiency on the 2014-15 Iowa Assessment Goal: To increase overall proficiency on the 2015-16 Iowa Assessment with the end goal always being 100% of students meeting proficiency. (Grades 3-5) We believe that every child can and will learn in our school. You can see how we tied this belief into our overarching building goals. This slide represents the percentage of students in grades 3-5 at Crocker who were proficient last year in the areas of literacy and math on the Iowa Assessments. These are the percentages we report to the Iowa Department of Education on an annual basis, and are the scores we are held accountable for with the federal No Child Left Behind legislation. Our goal will always be to have 100% of our students reach proficiency and achieve at their greatest academic potential. Behavior Goal: 100% of students demonstrate building level expectations: be safe, be respectful, be responsible

Mini Lesson Application Sharing Focused on ONE topic EXPLICIT Instruction Guided Practice 1:1 conferring Strategy/Skill Group Independent Practice Group Work Connected to the focus Debriefing related to the day’s focus lesson (thinking about thinking) Mini Lesson Application Sharing This is the instructional framework we use in literacy and math. The mini lesson is where we pull students together and teach a very focused lesson around an important standard. During the application time, we can work with individual students and in small groups to differentiate their learning. At the sharing time we pull students back together to reflect on our learning and give students an opportunity to share their thinking.
