Let me say a word about course evaluations Colonel Floyd H. Duncan Department Chairman

Course Evaluations I am asking every member of the department to play this slide presentation prior to the section marcher handing out the evaluation forms. Please give me your undivided attention for the next two minutes.

Course Evaluations The reason we have course evaluations is to get feedback for continuous improvement. Unfortunately, in the past, many cadets have seen these as an opportunity to get even with some faculty member who gave them a low grade, or maybe called them to task when they got up in the middle of class and walked out. The faculty does not give low grades sometimes cadets fail to earn high grades!

Course Evaluations Many cadets simply go zip, zip, zip through the multiple choice, then write nothing, or else take a cheap shot in the comments. Even the good comments are sometimes useless. Saying, He held review sessions, is meaningless. Please be thoughtful in your comments. Your goal should be to give us information that will improve the course, the curriculum, or the quality of instruction.

Course Evaluations So what do I want you to do? I want you to take the evaluations seriously. You can be critical, but you must be fair. Frankly, I will ignore any evaluations that make personal attacks. Good luck on your exams, and I look forward to seeing all of you back after the break.

Section Marcher, You may begin.
