Standard Units of Measure Units that are used by everyone in a certain area, and they do not change from person to person. Example: Inch, foot, yard, and mile are some standard units of length in the United States.

It has two parts: a number and a unit of measure. Measurement It has two parts: a number and a unit of measure.

Meter (m) The standard unit of length in the metric system used to measure distance.

Gram (g) The standard unit of mass in the metric system used to measure the amount of matter in an object.

Liter (L) The standard unit of capacity in the metric system used to measure volume.

Prefix A letter or letters that is attached to the beginning of a word that changes the meaning of the word.
