Teaching Notes The purpose of these questions is to give you a chance to evaluate students’ progress by looking over their shoulder while they work. Give the students time to work, then WALK around and see if they’re getting correct answers. With a remote mouse (a “clicker”), you can slowly display the answers while walking around. Time it so you show each answer after most students have finished that problem. Students like instant feedback, so showing each answer while they work is better than showing all the answers together at the end.

8). Try these on your own. Each answer will be shown after you have time to work. -3 + -6 = -9 8 + -5 = 3 10 + 6 = 16 10 10 10 They DON’T cancel out. What’s left is 3. 5 5 5 They DON’T cancel out. Total = 16 Pos. - 5 - 5 - 5 Total = 9 Neg. -10 -10 -10
