Situated in South Tyneside Families First WHO ARE WE? Situated in South Tyneside Offer in reach/ Outreach/ Short break provision to Families in South Tyneside who have been assessed at being on “ The Edge of Care”

Families First Families First Definition of “Edge of Care” is: “The Families First Service supports children, Young people and their families with high levels of need where there is an immediate or potential risk of family breakdown. The service seeks to work in partnership to support and strengthen families to safely remain together”.

Families First Case study: Adam is 15 year old male Recently returned to South Tyneside with Mam. Limited support network Referred to Families First Oct 17 Challenging and aggressive behaviour Adam difficult to engage

Families First Strengths Based Strengths-based practice is a collaborative process between the person supported by services and those supporting them, allowing them to work together to determine an outcome that draws on the person’s strengths

Families First Solution Focused. Building on a strengths perspective and using a time-limited approach, solution-focused brief therapy is a model in social work practice that holds a person accountable for solutions rather than responsible for problems.
