SEARCHING ERIC THESAURUS & LIMIT RESULTS

First, let’s learn the steps to access USU databases: please go to our site http://www.usuniversity.edu and select Library (1). Click on Full Text Database Education (2). Scroll down and look for ERIC - EBSCO(3) register (4). 1 3 2 Ask the USU librarian for ID & Password. From your USU email to clopez@usuniversity.edu 4

To browse ERIC thesaurus, click The Thesaurus tells you the words to use in your searching, sometimes we need to think in general terms, instead of specific terms. Browse for nouns and adjectives. Do not use articles, verbs or adverbs Why browsing through ERIC Thesaurus?

What Browse field do you want to use? The words to be browse are: “EDUCATIONAL THEORIES” OR “TEACHING THEORIES.” Let’s search EDUCATIONAL THEORIES first A new thesaurus Browse screen is display. Enter your search term in the Browse field, and select Terms Begins With What Browse field do you want to use? If you select Terms Begins With, the list displays the terms in alphabetical order If you select Term Contains, the term searched for appears first followed by a list of terms displayed in alphabetical order If you select Relevancy Ranked, it will appears the exact match for the term first in order of relevance

Mark the headings that match your interest, as many as you need The terms selected combined them with AND, OR, or NOT , click “Add” and SEARCH

Limit your results to Full Text, Peer-Reviewed and from 2007 to present time
