Vocabulary Sentences The characterization was so vivid, I could picture every detail of her. The characters in the story are all teenage boys. Her southern accent was a great character trait. Batman was the protagonist in my comic book. The Joker was the antagonist in the story. The dialogue in the movie was very sad.

Protagonist The protagonist is the main character or the hero also known as the good guy.

Antagonist The antagonist is the opponent also known as the bad guy or force.

Sensory Details using the five senses (touch, smell, taste, hear, see) to describe the surroundings.

Foreshadowing The use of hints or clues to suggest what will happen later in the story.
