Reproductive System Project

Shark Vs. Green sea turtle Sharks are a group of fish characterized by a cartilaginous skeleton, five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head, and pectoral fins that are not fused to the head. Green Sea Turtle is a large sea turtle. Named after its green color of its fat, most people think they got their name from their skin or shell, but its from its fat.

Reproductive Category Sharks and green sea turtles goes through the sexual reproduction Basically both organisms go through, mating, fertilizing the egg from the male sperm and reproduce in that way

Comparison For Green Sea turtles Green Sea turtles fertilization is internal. Copulation takes place in the water. They lay eggs, as they come on shore on sand for them to nest. After weeks of mating. Usually they nest in the warmest months of the year. The female use her front flippers to dig a pit to lay her 50-200 eggs in. Nest every two or three years

Comparison For Sharks They don’t produce high volumes of offsprings. They tend to mature in slow rate. Which affects the population. Sharks can give birth to BOTH live young and eggs! Their reproduction could be sexual or asexual. For sexual, 2 sharks mate and for asexual the male deposits sperm into the female which fertilize eggs. Called oviparity. Could hatch inside the mother.
