SURVIVAL What would you do?

Vacation of a lifetime… You and your friends decide to take the vacation of a lifetime and visit a beautiful island in the Caribbean. Because of flight regulations, you are only allowed to pack and take one suitcase on the plane for your week long trip. As a matter of a fact, you are only allowed to have 15 items in your suitcase. What are the 15 things you would want to make sure you packed and brought with you? Now, from that list, choose just the top five items.

Problems on board… The flight leaves on time and you and your friends are beyond excited. As you sit enjoying your flight, you make plans for the week ahead. Suddenly, the plane begins to experience some minor turbulence that eventually becomes violent. The pilot comes over the loud speaker and in a panic, tells everyone to prepare themselves as the plane’s engines are failing. Things happen so quickly as the plane loses altitude, and you close your eyes and brace for impact.

Where is everyone? When you open your eyes again, you realize you have just survived a plane crash and are now in the ocean floating near a deserted island completely alone… Out of the corner of your eye, you see your suitcase floating next to you and you swim to it and drag it and yourself to the island... You start to think about how you are going to survive using just the items you have. Write next to each item the way in which you think you will use it for survival. Remember… your items might have gotten wet and you might need to use your items in a “new” way…

So Lucky!!! You finally make it to the island and start sorting through your items. You are so very lucky because you notice several of your friends swimming toward your island with their suitcases. Together you inventory all of your items and start planning your survival. One the front of your group sheet, list all of the items your group has access to and write a one paragraph description how you will use those items to survive. On the back of your paper, draw a picture of how those items will be used to help all of you survive!!
