On any given Sunday, 26% of us are present Obviously its not always the same 26% Some are present every week Some attend every once in a while Some almost never come Only 51% of our households contribute financially to support the mission of Christ in our Parish. 32% of our families, 380 out of 1,192, supported the Bishops mission in the Lenten Appeal this year. Historic Saint Mary's Church

Context: Our moral life is bound to and nourished by our liturgical life. Precepts include the obligation to assist with the needs of the Church so that the Church has what is necessary for divine worship, for apostolic works and works of charity. Historic Saint Mary's Church

Tithing 10% of all that we receive we give back to the Lord 5% to Historic St. Marys 5% to other charities Bishops Annual Lenten Appeal Other collections for particular or world needs Other Non-profits Its a First Step Basic Participation Generosity begins at 11%. Christ invites us to give 100% But mostly it is a foundation principle in our Spirituality Historic Saint Mary's Church

He asks us to trust Him, knowing that God cannot be outdone in generosity. Tithing is not only about the Church, it is a lesson in trust to help us know Him better He calls us beyond the law, like the rich man in the Gospel last week He calls for to make a complete gift of ourselves out of love for Him which mirrors His love for us. He calls us to be servants to all just as He came not to be served but to serve. Historic Saint Mary's Church
