Legacy Church Event - 9/25/2018 Kentucky Wesleyan College hosted Holocaust survivor and nationally- acclaimed attorney John Rosenberg on Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. at Legacy Church. Many of Dr. Pavlik’s CJ students attended this event and then posted to their class discussion about the experience.

New Beginnings 9/26/2018 Guest Speaker, Terri Crowe The Deviant Behavior class learned about the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), crisis hotline, and other victim advocate resources that New Beginnings provides to its clients. The advocate also discussed volunteer opportunities.
On 10/1/2018 students DOCUMENTED a crime scene ON CAMPUS AS A CLASS ASSIGNMENT The Criminal Investigations class actively participated in a mock crime scene investigation taking digital photos, sketching the scene, collecting evidence, and documenting the items of evidentiary value on an evidence log. On 9/10/18 the students also documented an indoor crime scene by taking measurements, creating a rough sketch, and then a final sketch of the scene.

Deputy Tom Whitford came to the judicial process class HELD at KWC on 10/2/2018 for a SPEAKING engagement Deputy Whitford gave a law enforcement perspective of the judicial process and answered questions from the students about his career and interaction with the public.
DavieSs County Courthouse The Judicial Process class designed a courthouse security checklist (interior, exterior, and courtroom) in class. The class used their checklist and performed an assessment of the site on 10/4/2018 and wrote up their findings.
Daviess County Detention Center 10/9/2018 Fieldtrip Daviess County Detention Center The Corrections class met with Lt. Moore to discuss the corrections process, job opportunities, and students toured the detention facility.

10/15/2018 Fieldtrip TO Owensboro Police Dept. (OPD) The Criminal Investigation and Correction classes toured the OPD with Lt. Powell. The students were briefed about criminal investigations, job opportunities in law enforcement, and a presentation was done by Det. Green

Defense Attorney Bryce Caldwell Came to the Judicial Process class to speak on 10/16/2018 about the process in defending people and discuss job opportunities in the field of law
New Beginnings 10/22/2018 Guest Speaker, Terri Crowe The Deviant Behavior class learned about the other victim advocate resources that New Beginnings provides to its clients in Owensboro, KY and deviant behavior topics discussed in class.
10/15/2018 Guest Speaker Clark Pelphrey, Manager of the Behavior Health Unit, at Owensboro Health Regional Facility came to KWC and spoke to the Deviant Behavior class about mental illness and suicide
November 20, 2018 Daviess County Judicial Center Fieldtrip The Judicial Process met a few judges, sat in court proceedings, and was given an overview of the court system in Daviess County by Susan Tierney (Circuit Court Clerk).
Trooper Corey King Trooper King came to the Corrections class held at KWC on 11/1/2018 and spoke on various law enforcement topics and job opportunities.
November 3, 2018 Students were invited to attend a day of training with John Clouse and the Daviess County Search & Rescue team who teamed up with Spencer County to polish their search & rescue skills and had guest lecturers to present various topics. The training occurred at the Lincoln State Park in Lincoln City, IN.
November 19, 2018 Tour of New Beginnings Karla Ward, Director, of New Beginnings gave the Deviant Behavior class a tour of the site, answered questions regarding the facility , and discussed volunteer options together with the victim advocate program.
