Higher Education Coordinating Council Business & Industry Independent Colleges & Universities Commission for Independent Education (DOE) Department of Education Florida College System (DOE) State University System Higher Education Coordinating Council The Higher Education Coordinating Council makes recommendations to the Legislature, the State Board of Education, and the Board of Governors regarding the State’s unmet educational needs and facilitates solutions to disputes regarding the creation of new degree programs, institutes, campuses, or centers. The Council will make recommendations that are intended to: • Achieve a more seamless PK-20 academic educational system • Promote consistent education policy and articulation processes across all educational delivery systems — focusing on students • Maximize access to a high quality education for all Floridians • Improve accountability measures across all education delivery systems www.FloridaHigherEducation.org
