9. How the Commission Relates to Other Boards and Agencies
OEIB –Executive Director is advisory appointee to the OEIB;
State Board of Education (SBE) – The SBE adopts standards for p-12 education and distributes State School Funds to school districts, education service districts and charter schools;
The Commission ensures that licensed school personnel are appropriately prepared to teach the academic standards set by the State Board of Education;

10. How the Commission Relates to Other Boards and Agencies
Oregon Department of Education (ODE):
TSPC shares data weekly with the ODE (licensure data);
ODE shares employment data with TSPC (February);
TSPC works closely with department staff to implement federal No Child Left Behind Law;
TSPC and ODE work together to ensure the NCES course codes identifying scope of teaching are aligned with state standards and preparation standards;
TSPC and ODE work together on the Career and Technical Education licenses;
TSPC and ODE work closely on special education issues.

11. How the Commission Relates to Other Boards and Agencies
Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC):
Office of Degree Authorization (ODA): TSPC works closely with this office to ensure that out of state teacher preparation programs are properly authorized to do business in the state;
ODA also assists when TSPC is unsure of whether an international educator preparation program is professionally accredited.
Oregon University System (OUS): Six public higher education universities prepare Oregon licensed educators: (EOU, OSU, PSU, UP, SOU, WOU)
