Summary Who was she Why did we choose her Our interpretation School reform Judiciary reform Our interpretation Introducing her family by video

Maria Theresa 13 May 1717 – 29 November 1780 Maria Theresa was crowned on 25 of June 1741 in „Dóm of Saint Martin“ in Bratislava and she was also crowned in Prag on 12 of May 1743 She was the only female ruler of the Habsburg monarch She could speak german, french and latin She promulgated economic and school reforms, she supported trade and evolution of agriculture and she reorganized army She established the „compulsory education for 6 years“ Maria Theresa was one of the most important rulers of the Habsburg monarch

Why did we choose her -School reform We chose her because we think that it was very important that she established the „compulsory education for 6 years“ Children in age from 6-12 had to go to school She also established the rule that it does not matter about gender, provenance or place of living, everybody could study School was in every village and students learned „trivium“ which means that they learned how to write, read and count

Why did we choose her -Judiciary reform She remormed also judiciary because there where some same laws as in the „Old ages“ She banned judgments on witches, medieval torture and corporal punishments She published a codex called „Lex Theresiana“, by this codex where all people equal in front of the judgement

Autobiografy (caricature) Person, I am going to describe is unexpectedly me. My name is Maria Theresa von Habsburg. I was the only female ruler of the Habsburg monarch and also one of the most important because as you all know women can always do everything better than men. I made reforms which were important in that time but many of them are important also nowadays. I am the person because of whom you have to go to school every day for 10 years (in my times pupils went to school only for 6 years, that was not my idea to go there for long 10 years). But I thought up also good things: I banned judgments on witches, medieval torture and corporal punishments. Can you imagine these things in your time? No? Then you know to whom you can thank.
