Function Rules and Tables

Function Relation- Any set of order pairs (1,2) (2,4) (3,4) (2, 7) (5,4) Domain- (input) X coordinate {1, 2, 3, 2, 5} Range – (output )Y coordinate {2, 4, 9, 7, 4}

Function Function- each number of the domain (input, x coordinate) associates with only one member of the range (output, y coordinate) Input x 1 2 3 5 Output y 2 4 9 7

Function When ever a member of the domain associates with more then one range then it is not a function. Input X Output Y 1 2 2 4 9 3 5 7

Function (1 ,2 ) ( 2 , 4) ( 3 , 4 ) (2 , 7) (5 , 4) Input X Output Y 2 9 3 7 5
