Presentation transcript:

The Ontario Central East Division believes that: ٠ Life is holy. Our days, our minutes are holy, created by God according to His holy purpose. ٠ Christ reclaimed the world as a place of fulfillment and transcendence.

The Ontario Central East Division believes that: ٠ God chose human life as His dwelling place. His presence and His purpose put us on holy ground. ٠ In vision and in a plan that moves the mission forward. ٠ Leaders need to have principles. Soldiers need to have convictions and both require clear mission.

The Ontario Central East Division believes that: ٠ The world needs a message. And, we have the message. ٠ What makes us work harder is that we aim to stretch out our fingers to see the face of God in others.

The Ontario Central East Division believes that: ٠ We dont talk about the enemy like we used to. ٠ Church is a place where people come together & no one gets left behind regardless of any past failures, even future failures. ٠ We will address many issues together. We will not win them all but we will be going somewhere.

Divisional Focus There are times when it appears we are journeying through a maze of challenges, opportunities and some disillusionment before we finally fulfill His calling and make a difference – Gods way that is! Trying to figure out the right path can be frustrating. There are roadblocks and choices between left and right turns before getting to the center.

Divisional Focus The platform for carrying out FORWARD is the calling of The Salvation Army. Today we stand on the platform together as we consider the Divisional Vision Mission Objectives Strategies Action Plans while reviewing the past, living and serving in the present, looking forward to the future.

Mastery - Do whatever we do as well as we possibly can Chemistry - In a way that is good for people Delivery - In the service of others Accountability - Being responsible for strengths and weaknesses create a bond to each other and a commitment to the vision of restoring people and communities to full life and health. The Divisional values of:

Restoring people and communities to full life and health. The vision is the what - the picture, of the operational plan. A vehicle for the work of God. God belongs in the business aspect. It is that belief that: ٠ Honors God ٠ Helps people develop ٠ Pursues excellence Operational Vision

The Salvation Army is called by God to be an instrument of healing to a troubled world. The mission is the why of the operational plan. Operational Mission

While The Salvation Army stands on the threshold globally, it must be: ٠ flexible in methodology ٠ remain firm in mission ٠ fluid in program ٠ fixed in purpose. The Ontario Central East Division makes a commitment to give our best effort to resource the units in order to restore people and communities to full life and health.

Spiritual Focus The call of the spiritual plan is simple: Its time for The Salvation Army church to be church again. Not a bureaucracy to be built, or a structure to be sustained or an institution to be preserved but a movement to be fueled, a movement of global proportions and apostolic characteristics. A movement that is mobile, flexible and invades the darkness.

Spiritual Focus Being this kind of movement accepts risk and discomfort. Movements in the church are the free flow of Gods Spirit to accomplish mission in his way. How? By fully embracing the promise of God for the church. It is not our organization but Gods organization. It is not our empire but Gods kingdom.

Restoring people and communities to full life and health. We are entering an era of unprecedented movement of Gods Spirit. Spiritual Vision

It is an opportunity for the Church to be characterized by: ٠ prayer-based spiritual vitality ٠ mission-driven activity ٠ partnering, cultural relevance ٠ transformational holiness ٠ diversity and risk-taking initiative Spiritual Vision

The Salvation Army is called by God to be an instrument of healing to a troubled world. This movement, called into being by God, maintains its relentless commitment to serve as the infantry of the militant Christian Church in restoring people and communities to full life and health. Its continuing mission is to bring others to a salvation in Christ and to be his instrument of healing to a troubled and tortured world. (Gariepy, 2000, 4) Spiritual Mission

1. Reclaim the value of prayer 2. Renew the life of holiness 3. Reaffirm the value of aggressive and adaptive evangelism Spiritual Objectives

Prayer connections: Prayer will give foundation to the discipline, planning, practice and work for which we are seeking to make a part of the total plan. The division is called back to a life of participatory prayer. Im not suggesting we are not praying but I am convinced that we can take this gift of God to a higher, deeper, wider level. Spiritual Objectives

Holiness: Gods grace and hope is everywhere but it is particularly abundant on the edges of life, in those places of risk and danger where we dare to step out in faith. Every ministry unity is to be fully alive in Christ! To possess the extravagant dimensions of Christs love – to reach out and experience the breath of Gods love. To rise to new heights in the community and live full lives, full in the fullness of God…fully alive like Christ. To know no limits! Spiritual Objectives

Aggressive evangelism: Through out his ministry Jesus made life-changing connections with a variety of unlikely people. In the business of saint making He widened the circle of those who were unacceptable. He purposely socialized with outcasts. Spiritual Objectives

Doctrinal and denominational difference were not the connections that created The Salvation Army. Concern for the poor and evangelistic fervor were the common denominators. Spiritual Objectives

1. Embrace prayer priorities 2. Equip the saints to be fully alive, fully engaged 3. Engage in community connections with the gospel Spiritual Strategies

1. Focus on local and divisional prayer initiatives 2. Focus on practical holiness teaching 3. Focus on evangelistic connections Spiritual Action Plans
