Features of effective abstract Uses one or more well developed paragraphs: unified, coherent, concise, and self-contained Uses a 3-part structure Introduction / topic sentence Body / supporting sentences Conclusion / concluding sentence Follow chronology of the thesis Adds no new information Uses passive voice
