Pacing guide Pacing for this class is based on the new York State Core curriculum New York state Learning standards

Lab requirements Critical to understanding science concepts is the use of scientific inquiry to develop explanations of natural phenomena. Therefore, as a prerequisite for admission to the Regents examination in Physical Setting/Earth Science, students must have successfully completed 1200 minutes of laboratory experience with satisfactory written reports for each laboratory investigation.* We will participate in the production of 30 hours of lab time. *New York State Education Regulations for Regents Class

Lab requirements One cannot take the regents if lab requirements are not met. May a school administrator or teacher exempt a student from the laboratory requirement?  No. All students must complete the laboratory requirement.  Students who are hospitalized, homebound, or home-schooled may be given comparative laboratories or alternative laboratories. * http://www.p12.nysed.gov/part100/pages/policyqascience.html

Keys to success This is not a chalk and talk classroom. You will work hard. You will complete your assignments. You will have regular attendance.
