Agenda for 8th Grade Science Attendance/Copy down H.W. for the week Seating Chart Introduction- Who is Mrs. Dira? Changes to the Expectations The grade scale: 59 and below is an F H.W.- 20%, Labs/Projects/Activities- 50%, Tests- 30% Detention Will also be given for Dress code and Forms/tests not turned in on time

Notes Notes will be available online on our website: http://southpointe.wvusd.k12.ca.us/ Your options are to print it out at home and highlight them or write them down in class. If you do not have the notes printed on that day, you are required to write them down. Computer labs are used for AR only or if a teacher allows you to use them. You may be allowed to print notes in the library. If you need to talk to me about a printer situation or getting the notes, please have a parent signed note for me or talk to Mrs. Frank.

Citizenship If you are disturbing the class in any way with your actions or being disrespectful, you will be asked to put your name and period on the board. Then if I have to speak to you again, you will receive a check next to your name. After the third time, you will receive a DETENTION. Each time is an infraction and will be tallied for a citizenship grade. There may be instances that a person may receive an immediate DETENTION.

Vandalism Please take care of your area and make sure it is clean prior to and after class. Stack books neatly, throw all trash, and if it’s the end of the day stack the chairs (Monday, Thursday, and Friday) If you see any type of markings on tables and chairs, you MUST report it or I will assume that it is someone at your table. If I personally see you, you will receive a DETENTION immediately.

Science Olympiad South Pointe Mission: To give all students an opportunity to develop an interest, be engaged, explore, and learn different aspects of science outside the classroom. To develop a team from these students that will compete against other schools. Student Informational Meeting- Thursday, Sept. 6 from 2:30-3:30 pm in the PLTW room (D224) Applications due Sept. 14 Testing- Tues- Thurs. , Sept. 25, 26, 27 from 2:30- 4:30 Doesn’t determine for sure who will compete There will be a Team A and B
