Presentation transcript:

For the past two years, William Edwards’ staff and students have celebrated World Book Day in style…

This year, we want to make it an even bigger event… Next week, 26th February to 2nd March, there will be numerous events running in support of World Book Day. We want you to get involved as much as possible…

Hand in your entries to Mrs Kirk in the library when you’re ready! Monday: ‘What’s their favourite book?’ competition… Your teachers will all have posters featuring their favourite books on their classroom doors. They will leave them there all week. You need to write down as many as you can – the pupil with the most correct titles written down will win a prize! Hand in your entries to Mrs Kirk in the library when you’re ready!

Hand in your answers to Mrs Kirk in the library when you’re ready! Tuesday: ‘Guess the Teacher’ competition… There will be A3 posters up around the school with pictures of your teachers hiding behind various book covers. All you need to do is identify who’s who and write down your answers. The pupil with the most correct answers will win a prize! Hand in your answers to Mrs Kirk in the library when you’re ready!

Wednesday: ‘Name the Book’ competition… Mrs Kirk will have a quiz that you can collect from the library. All you have to do is correctly identify the most blanked out book titles. Hand in your entries by the end of the day for the chance to win a brand new Kindle!

PALs Lastly, on the Wednesday, the PALs will also be running a competition for you to win a selection of amazing books! All you need to do is pay 50p to have a go at guessing the amount of pages in the books being shown. Closest to the actual number, will win them all! The proceeds will all be donated to the PALs charity of choice for this year – UNICEF.

Thursday (WBD): ‘What’s the Title?’ competition… There will be various letters up around school. All you need to do is try and figure out which popular book title is being spelt. The first person to correctly identify it and tell Mrs Kirk will win a prize!

Thursday (WBD): £1 Book Tokens! These will be in your register wallets on Thursday in PM registration. You can either use these to get £1 off of a book or to buy one of the many £1 books that are made available to you on World Book Day!

Friday: INTER-TUTOR COMPETITION INTER-HOUSE COMPETITION
