Writing to Describe & Explain:

How successful is this piece of writing? Why? Journey of a Plant The exam will present an image, and will ask to use it as a stimulus for the writing task, either a description or a story. The student has decided to write a story rather than a description. When reading, consider the following: Vocabulary Rhetorical Devices Sentence Structure Punctuation How successful is this piece of writing? Why?

Image Analysis For each of the images, write down as many ideas as possible for 60 seconds. Consider: Adjectives Emotions Thoughts Characters

Stimulus for Writing Choose one of the images. Either: Write a description suggested by the image Or: Write the opening of a story that could have been inspired by the image. Spend 45 minutes writing.
