When diluting an acid, always… Add Acid

To detect an odor… Waft Gently

To insert glass tubing into a stopper: *Lubricate *Protect hands *Twist gently

When heating a liquid in a test tube… Aim the test tube away from you and others

As directed by your teacher! Dispose of chemicals… As directed by your teacher!

Acid spills should be neutralized with… Baking Soda

When using a burner… Never leave unattended! Stand up!

Unused chemicals must be… Thrown away! (So-o-o…Get only what you need.)

Check to see if glassware is hot by… Holding the back of your hand close to it.
