Please find a seat, and begin filling out the paperwork (front & back) inside your child’s folder. Thanks! Ms.Mimms

ARRIVAL: Doors open at 7:15 for students. School begins at 8:00. Breakfast is served 7:15-7:45. Students must be in line by 7:40 to purchase breakfast. Students arriving before 7:45 will sit with their class outside of the classroom.

DISMISSAL: begins at 3:00. Use Parson’s Road for car rider drop off/pick up. Do not exit vehicle. Keep transportation tag on backpack. Must have a written note for transportation changes. Please keep transportation consistent.

Please make school a top priority and attend every day except in cases of illness or emergencies. If your child is absent, you must send a note in order for it to be excused. Make this a separate note, do not write it in the agenda.

CLASS DOJO- used school wide Students earn/lose points based on behavior. Parents can view point activity and “class stories.” “Butterfly” –Start everyday with an extra warning. I will communicate behavior daily via the agenda or dojo: Stamp = Good Day. A note will be written if expectations were not met for the day. Please sign each night. Students must earn a set amount of points to attend the ROAR party each 9 weeks.

BINDERS: contains student agenda and take home folder BINDERS: contains student agenda and take home folder. Bring to school daily. Please check and sign your child’s agenda every night. Please send any notes to me clipped to the agenda. Students will place any completed work in their “Take Home Folder.” Please empty nightly.

Homework/Reading Folders: I will send home assignments every Monday in your child’s reading folder. Assignments should be completed and returned every Friday. Assignments should be spread out throughout the week and should take 10-15 minutes to complete. Homework will require: pencil, scissors, glue, crayons.

Homework/Reading Folders: Reading Folders contain: sight word flashcards, sight word reader, and extra practice. Please study the flashcards and read the books at least 2X a week. Initial each time your child read to you. Sight words will be tested every Friday

LUNCH: Our lunch time is 10:34-10:59. Parents are welcome to join students at a special table after Labor Day. All guests must sign in and out of the office. Kindergartners can purchase ice cream on Fridays. mealpayplus.com MONEY: Please send money in a labeled envelope with your child’s name, my name, amount of money, and what the money is for. Money will not accepted if it is not in a labeled envelope.

MEDICINE: If your child requires medicine while at school, it must be brought in by an adult and signed in with the nurse to be administered by office staff. DO NOT send medicine with your child.

SNACKS: Please send 20 individually wrapped snacks for the snack tub at the beginning of each month. A list of healthy snack ideas can be found in your welcome packet. Please send your child with a snack on phase in day. BIRTHDAYS: We are happy to celebrate birthdays! If you wish to send a special snack on your child’s special day, it must be store bought. Please do not send things that need to be cut/distributed. If you would like your child to pass out invitations, each classmate must receive an invite per school policy.

RESPONSIBILITY: CLOTHING: Kindergarten students are responsible for independently packing and unpacking their backpacks, bringing agendas, returning homework, and handling restroom/clothing needs. CLOTHING: Please send student to school in clothing they are comfortable in and can handle themselves. Please keep an extra set of clothing in your child’s backpack at all times. Accidents happen when you least expect them!

Parents are welcome to walk their children to the classrooms on their phase in day and the 1st day. Friday (8-18) will be the last day to walk students to their classroom. Our PAC Committee will be hosting a breakfast on Tuesday for Kindergarten Parents after dropping off students. Bookstore Money: I have received the supplies for the bookstore pack on the supply list. Please send in $5.00 for these items on your child’s Phase In Day.

Before You Leave Complete the front & back of the paperwork in your child’s folder and place in the green basket at the back table. Please leave the completed papers inside of the folder.
