Research your product You will now begin to look at the product or service you wish to provide This lesson – You will research and examine the different types of products that you could offer You will analyse how viable they are come up with a group shortlist of 2 2 min- Explain what students will be learning in todays lesson and answer any queries. Go through the information in the parent letter.

Most important factors Choosing Your product 5 min total- What are the most important things you have to consider before deciding what product you want to sell, make sure students understand that cost and practicality is vital now.

Choosing your product Costs Demand Skills Practicality Competition

Individual Task Picture of Product Propose your product in the centre of a page and add in the comments around it Individual Task Picture of Product Function Safety Design & Name Cost Composition Describe what your product does What are your materials? What are the legal and safety issues How much will you charge for your product? 15 min- students to work as individuals to come up with two potential products/services. They can use the internet to research. What does your product look like? What is it called?

Team Task Get into teams of 3/4 with the tables at the side or behind you. DO NOT MOVE TO JOIN A GROUP IN ANOTHER PART OF THE CLASS! Put all of your designs in the centre of the table so that they are visible to all team members. Each team member should write down 3 things they like about each persons design and 1 thing they do not like (you must say how you think the proposition could be improved). As a group you must decide which of the selection you wish to present to a panel of Dragons… When this is done, in your books start to design your product and the pitch you would like to give. 25 min- Students need to reach their decision by the start of the next lesson. Teachers to assist to make sure what students are doing is viable.

This is the first time you have worked as a group, evaluate your group work WWW – What went well EBI– Even better if 2 min Reviewing the learning techniques. GPS – Explain what you will do to progress
