BERC Begins BERC was created in 1993, by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Study revealed that the business community wanted an impartial, confidential, third party to assist them with regulatory compliance issues.

Sustainable Measures Checklist In order to be certified, a business must implement a minimum number of these measures. The measures require changes in equipment, as well as changes in practices, which enhance sustainability.
Sustainable Measures Checklist A business can either implement measures suggested on the checklist, or enter their own unique measures in the “OTHER” box on the checklist.
SB Benefits A certified business receives a 8 ½” by 11” certificate and a 5” by 5” window decal to display at their facility.
