FY 2018 Grant Program Basic Information* EPA expects to award about $6 million in assistance agreements in FY18 to approximately 20 - 25 projects ($200k max for individual agency grants, $400k max for multiple agency grants) $219 million in EN grants since FY02 Unofficial selection notices sent out late June to July Awards made July through September 2018 *Source for all Exchange Network information in this presentation: https://www.epa.gov/exchangenetwork/exchange-network-grant-program U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

FY18 Exchange Network Evaluation Criteria Criterion 1, Project Outputs and Outcomes Leading to Environmental Results, 15 points, should be consistent with EPA’s current priorities Criterion 2, Project Feasibility and Approach, reduced to 12 points and includes sub-criteria Criterion 3, Exchange Network Priorities, increased to 48 points and includes sub-criteria on shared services Criterion 4, Budget, Resources, and Key Personnel, includes budget description of why proposed costs are appropriate, 15 points Criterion 5, Past Performance, reduced to 10 points and includes sub-criteria Down from $300,000 Down from $500,000 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

FY18 Exchange Network Program Priorities Aligns with Exchange Network Phase 2 goals and strategy The Exchange Network becomes increasingly usable, efficient, and sustainable. The Exchange Network becomes increasingly relevant and valuable to a broadening community of partners and consumers. The Network enables better decisions through timely, accessible, and useful environmental information. The Exchange Network and its partners have adequate resources for implementation, operations, and maintenance Down from $300,000 Down from $500,000 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

Foundational EN Shared Services U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

Reusable Component Services (RCS) RCS is EPA’s central catalog of reusable schema/programming code/web services EPA is placing greater emphasis on reusing EN tools/services and registering new tools/services Applicants must: Start of Grant: Search RCS for any existing project-appropriate resources/services and identify which they intend to use (Criterion 3.F) End of Grant: Explicitly commit to registering new resources in RCS (Criterion 2.C) EPA will evaluate if the applicant has registered resources in RCS as a result of previous EN Grants (Criterion 5.C) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
